Well...
It was another successful show and contest! We want to thank all of our sponsors, businesses who put ads in the program, and any individual that helped us put on our show. It was a team effort and could not have been accomplished without all your help. Just a week later, we performed at the Division II Contest in Federal Way. We came in 5th place AND scored even better than we had the year before. We are excited that we are improving and want to continue to do so. Here are some pictures to commemorate the April 2018 Show. If you are interested in becoming a part of this awesome group, show up anytime at: Westminster Presbyterian Church - Wednesdays, 7-9:15pm. See you soon!

Hello Ladies and Germs!
We are in desperate need of your help! Currently we are selling advertisements in our April 2018 show program. These ads are VITAL to our group's success as it pays for it to occur. Not many people are aware of this, but our annual show, every year, costs THOUSANDS of dollar to put on. So... what can you do to help? If you have a business located in the greater Olympia area, then advertise with us! Below is a breakdown of the costs. Also, when you do advertise, you will also get FREE tickets to our show. Bring your family, friends, and business partners to a great afternoon show of a cappella singing.
If you can't advertise with us, that's fine. Instead, buy a ticket and come to our show. Also, here is when we are putting on the show: Saturday, April 14th, 2018 at 2pm Tumwater High School Auditorium (PAC - performing arts center) 700 Israel Rd SW Tumwater, WA Any other questions email us at: OlympiaMensChorus@gmail.com Thank you Olympia and your surrounding communities! We have enjoyed singing for you all on Valentine's Day 2018 and hope that we have the opportunity next year. Here is just a small sample of the pictures and videos taken. If you don't know Mike Rowe, then you probably don't watch reality TV. Which isn't a terrible thing, but this individual has quite a story to tell. Instead of rambling on here, we have included a link below for your viewing pleasure. http://mikerowe.com/about-mike/bio Why is he important to barbershop music? Well besides being known as "the dirtiest man on TV," he is a TV host, writer, narrator, producer, actor, spokesman, AND a fabulous barbershop singer! He was trained by a world champion barbershopper, Freddie King, and shows us that anyone can do anything and still sing wonderfully.w He was named an Honorary Life Member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). (The BHS is the organizing head of our barbershop chapters.) I have included a video below from youtube, so that you can see how awesome he really is! Here is also a link to the video on the BHS website: http://www.barbershop.org/mike-rowe/ And, if you are thinking, wow... I would really like to be a part of great singing, then the Puget Sounders want you! We are looking for guys who are interested in singing and want to do it well.
We look forward to hearing from you. In this fabulous new year of 2018, the Puget Sounders Barbershop Chorus of Olympia, WA will be doing Singing Valentines for your sweetie or loved one.
We will go anywhere within the greater Olympia area. For $45 (4 hour window) we will:

What a great gift to provide someone that you cherish! Send them a group of a cappella singers to show them how much you care. Check out our "Singing Valentines" page under the "Events" menu in the top right hand corner of the page to learn more. You can also click below to access that page as well and talk to Mel about how we can make this Valentine's Day special for you and your sweetie. Singing is one of those miracles of life that brings joy to many people, but it can also bring many other wonderful benefits. Singing on its own helps you experience happiness in a whole new way by altering your physical and emotional well-being. When one sings in a group, an incredible transformation occurs. This occurs through the release of endorphins, which ultimately brings on feelings of pleasure and euphoria. Oxytocin is also released and enhances sensation of trust and bonding. For those of us who suffer from the winter-time blues (especially in the Pacific Northwest), this can be an excellent opportunity to kill the depression and loneliness. Usually when you sing, there is a lower level of cortisol, signaling a lower level of stress, which ultimately helps you achieve a true level of contentment. So... what can singing do for you?
So, have you learned anything? We have! Here in our barbershop chorus, we realize that no singing, is like having no life at all. Thus, singing = LIFE ~ Puget Sounders Deke Sharon, an inspiring, modern, a cappella master did a short video on: "Why Vocal Harmony Matters" In this video, he describes why, as a world, and as human beings, we require music as a part of our daily life. He also says why music brings people together and why it is necessary for us to connect to the deepest parts of ourselves. He explains that even history itself has changed the way we look at music and how the modern era has forced us to believe that music should only be performed by the most successful and talented individuals. Instead of reiterating the entire video here, below we have provided it for your viewing pleasure. Leave a comment and tell us what you think! If this video inspires you to sing with other AMAZING, like-minded individuals, check out our group at our contact page and get in touch with Jim Hartley or Bob Hart.
